Changes XVII: Summer’s End

Golden tendrils weave through a rich purple expanse, crafting a narrative that resonates with the mysteries of a forgotten forest. This piece calls viewers to a realm where each swirl and leaf flutters between the realms of reality and dream. The manipulation of space is engaging, as the golden vines cascade downward, meeting a lower world of softly scattered shapes, suggesting an organic connection between above and below. It's as if the artwork itself breathes, with each component finding its place in the delicate balance of nature. Changes XVI: Life Is But A Vapour.

New work in progress.

New work in progress, part of the series Changes. The series was started back in early 2025. It will consist of 20 pieces of similar size: 18×24 or 20×24. At this moment I’m down to 4 pieces to complete the series.
Changes comes from an initial inspiration I had about how our life might start out with many goals and dreams of success, fame, riches or even a simple life style. With time some of us achieve many of the goals while others might not. But is about the process, the journey which we strive in. Back in 1993 I embarked on a second set of goals and dreams. While in the first part of my life my main goal was to achieve fame and wealth. That change in 93’ drew me to see life differently and to reevaluate my dreams and goals. Thanks to God my life turned for the best once I let the Lord be my dream, my goal and my guide. To be continued…

Change V: Continuing the Changes Series.

The delicate circles seem to pulse and breathe, offering a display of celestial wonder. At first glance, tranquility envelops the viewer, yet the arrangement challenges initial perceptions. What appears as a soothing array of shapes may reveal something deeper upon closer inspection, hinting at the vastness of space and the intricacy of the unseen universe. The bold contrast of colors creates a memorable visual experience, inviting one to linger and explore the complexity woven into every detail. This artwork promises a blend of calm and curiosity, leaving a lasting impression.

Changes X: It Skipped a Generation.

Delve into the intricate world of this artwork, where each circle, varying in size and color, creates a captivating microcosm. At first glance, a subtle row of concentric circles emerges from the deep plum hues, urging viewers to explore further. The intentional arrangement playfully challenges expectations, as the circles transition from orderly to a chaotic burst, redefining perceptions with each gaze. Through a rich color scheme and pattern variation, the piece connects with universal themes of order and chaos. It ignites curiosity and thought about life’s complexities, capturing the ebb and flow of human emotion within its carefully crafted design.

Part of the Changes Series started in 2025 as a exploration of the ever changing, developing goals, aspirations and dreams that we have in this wonderful experience called Life.

Changes IV

Emerging as a center of cultural discourse, this creation charms with its complex arrangement of lozenge shapes cascading from warm caramel into cool olive tones. The repeating patterns reflect motifs often found in decorative designs, while the rich violet overlay disrupts and tantalizes the viewer’s perception. This delicate arrangement of color and form aligns with themes of continuity and change, suggesting broader societal narratives. How might this fusion of textures and hues prompt a new lens through which to view the world? This piece encourages consideration of the blend of tradition and modernity, portraying the essence of transformation within a structured cosmos.

Are you blind that you can’t see the difference?

“Are you blind that you can’t see the difference?” “Estas ciego que no puedes ver la diferencia?”

This piece was inspired by an episode of Star Trek that I saw back in the 1970s. The episode is The Last Battlefield S3 #15.  It dealt with a planet in which the citizens had been at war with each other for thousands of years. The difference apparently was which side of the face was black and which was white.  This show left a lasting impression on me.  And here we are more than 50 years later and it seems that nothing has changed.  We as a nation seem to still be in conflict with each other and any new immigrants.

The painting is trying to bring attention, as the show that inspired it to how much we are alike and deep down we are all looking and dreaming the same things.  Only superficial differences is what makes us feel we are different.

New Painting: Florida Bay Night Sky

The image shows a creatively divided painting with an upper scene of a purple night sky, populated by stars of yellow, orange, pink, and blue hues, as well as a predominant yellow moon located towards the upper left. Below, a contrasting scene presents a green field resembling an undersea environment, where a linear formation of silver tarpons swims from the left to the right side of the painting. The fish feature purple bodies with silver scales, and their fins and tails are tipped with bright orange and blue, respectively, adding to the whimsical nature of the artwork.
