Layers I: Looking Back

“Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.”
Job 13:15.
At this moment in my life these words from Job ring true in my heart. After 32 years of living for the Lord I have learned that no matter what comes and goes God is still faithful and without a doubt has my life in His hands.
This new piece is the beginning of this body of work that has a working title of “Layers”. It is a reflection, a visual essay on a persons life, and the lack of control we have for the lows and highs of it. I hope to do justice to what I feel in my heart about it.

Layers: The Process.

My first piece in a series which has a tentative title of “Layers”. It follows a bit on my previous body of work, Changes, which dealt with an abstract view of our lives has they go from dreams, goals to reality. This series in a way will deal more with how we are, beings of multiple layers, with good, bad, happiness and sadness. As we explore our lives paths with acquire different experiences, which mold us into our present selves. I hope to do it justice.
