“Summertime at Uncle Elio’s House”

My finished piece “Summertime at Uncle Elio’s House” is in a way a small personal memorial to my uncle. He and I spent close to 30 years on and off working together. First in his auto body shop and then his eyeglass business. He was extremely influential in those years, and my work ethic is mostly based on him. I owe him a lot and I’m thankful that the Lord allowed me to have such a person in my life. But unfortunately having witnessed the change that took place in my life once I entered the kingdom of God, he made very little effort to acquire the Salvation that the Lord had for him. A very giving man always ready to give what was needed yet he died lost. 😞. Working on this piece was at times a bit heartbreaking because I know that he is not in a place of rest.

The way I’m feeling about this painting at this moment keeps me from uploading it to the galleries that represent me. I don’t think I could ever part from it. So the short answer will always be Not For Sale.

Family Portraits: Summer Mini Sessions

From a recent family mini session in a beautiful pinecrest area park. This little boy was all smiles because behind the photographer there was a professional child wrangler 😉 Actually it was his aunt making all the funny faces and the gestures that got him to smile. We had a wonderful time going around the park and capturing his beautiful smile. The boots are an extra bonus picture for the family…

Right now we are coming into the perfect weather here in South Florida for family photography in the late afternoons. The temperature will began to drop as we come closer to the end of summer. The sun will be setting sonner giving us a beautiful light to capture these images that will become family treasures in the years to come after the kids are all grown up and have left the nest. Give me a call and schedule a mini photography session. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Daddy’s Little Girl: She is growing up fast

James 4:14 “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”

It seems like only a few days ago that I was rocking her to sleep telling her stories that not only put her to sleep but also the story teller. Holding her bottle and telling of imaginary kings and princess in far away lands. How quickly life really moves past you and if you’re not fully awake you will look back one day and ask yourself were did it all go. This image was captured just 8 months ago.

Stop Growing!!!!! It’s what my heart is crying out, be my little girl once again.

Alexa Ranking 727,861 World Wide

It seems that only yesterday, November 1st to be exact, the ranking of my blog on Alexa.com was at 25,975,500. And here we are today one day before the end of 2011 and the ranking as gone up to 727,861. A lot of hard work and many comments have been the source of such a success.

Some would say that Alexa ranking is not that important while others would argue the contrary, truthfully is only a measuring stick, but is a constant non variable measuring device. Webpage and blog ranking be it on Alexa or Google help to support and encourage the posting of informative articles and images. The ranking is a reflection of daily visitor activity and that is where the encouragement part comes in. It is a great feeling to see one’s ranking climb on what is mostly a one way street. On a blog you get many more visitors than actually leave comments behind, that can  be a bit frustrating because you feel that your words and your images are simply vanishing into thin air.

So today I mark a bit of a milestone having had this blog going for less than a year I feel happy that I’m coming into 2012 with a fresh, positive outlook and some exciting numbers. Now the goal for the coming year is my Google ranking.

Happy New Year to all.
